Data we collect

  • Device or other IDs (e.g., Android Advertising ID, Firebase App Instance ID). support.google.com
  • App info & performance data (crash logs, diagnostics) via Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics. support.google.com
  • App usage events (feature opens, session length) via Firebase Analytics. support.google.com
  • Media access: the app reads and saves WhatsApp Status media locally to deliver core functionality; it is not uploaded to our servers.

How we use data

  • App functionality: enable saving/viewing status media and stabilizing performance.
  • Analytics: understand feature usage and improve reliability.
  • Advertising/measurement: show ads and measure their performance when ads SDKs are enabled.

Data sharing

  • Google AdMob (ads/measurement) receives Advertising ID. You can reset or limit ad personalization in Android settings.
  • Google Firebase (Analytics/Crashlytics) receives device/app identifiers and diagnostic events for analytics and crash reporting.
  • We do not sell personal data.
  • Legal basis (where applicable): legitimate interests (app functionality, security), consent where required for ads personalization.

Permissions used

  • Storage/Photos/Media to read and save status media locally.
  • Network access for ads and updates.

Retention

Identifiers and analytics data are kept by our providers per their standard retention schedules; you can reset the Advertising ID at any time.

Security

  • Transport-layer encryption; limited access to third-party dashboards; no user accounts are created.

Children's privacy

Not directed to children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to delete it.

Your choices

  • Reset/disable Advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization in Android settings.
  • You may delete cached status files inside the app or uninstall the app to remove local data.

Changes

We may update this policy; changes take effect when posted in-app and on our website. Material changes will be noted with a new "Effective date."
